TTTO Witnesses' Waltz by Leslie Fish

CHORUS: Twelve thousand, half million, million or more Pages of printout that cover the floor Work overtime 'til we barely can stand To write all the software the users demand Oh come along coders and hackers and geeks Stick to the specs that you've hated for weeks Type in your source code and wait for a while And we'll chug down the Jolt as the system compiles CHORUS It's the bugs in your code that you don't want to see As they quickly scroll up off your desk CRT One wrong semi-colon, one line out of place And the whole bloody program ends up lost in space CHORUS Supervisors ignore us, and customers too But if they don't notice, the schedulers do Hear them scream on the phone as we tell them to wait 'Cause the program they need is "a week or two" late CHORUS So come, let's go rewrite our programs today While the world's biggest disk failure clears them away We'll drink lots of coffee, on Fritos we'll munch From eleven 'til two we will all go to lunch
