Keys

When I started working / I got a set of keys To give me proper access / In various degrees Most were made from metal / Bronzed or silver plate I found the locks my keys fit / And everything was great I want to find that special key / That unlocks time and space That opens up the gates of hell / And every other place I wish to know to open locks / That chain mortality I'm looking for the keys to life / The keys to make us free And throughout my life now / More keys I've found I need To grant me home and harbor / To aid me when I bleed Forged from more than metal / Of spirit and of soul To unlock bright eternity / Is now my endless goal REFRAIN In time I have unlocked my heart / In time it's made to break I wish a key to seal my love / From chances it must take And even though the pain is real / The hurt must someday slack My heart broke key I've given to / The one who loves me back REFRAIN Four score years in mortal span / The keys I've since acquired The universal clock must tick / Yet keys I've still desired In hope of understanding all / With eager hands to take The keys from God's own holy hand / And sing the stars awake REFRAIN
