My Tik Tok feed was filled with screams
Of shanties high and low. (huh)

The sounds of pirates filled my brain,
From Port Royal to the Bay of Biscayne,
Up and down the Spanish Main,
Those sailors stole the show.

I tried to escape to Instagram,
But some Ren Faire boys were starting to jam,
I found a pirate poetry slam
And Stan Rogers video.

Facebook, lads, was too far gone,
From a “Drunken Sailor” marathon,
And the old folks carried on
With Disney’s yo-ho-ho.

And so it goes on to this day,
I fear I never shall get away,
So I might as well wet my pipes and play
And down the man I’ll blow.
