D G C I'm looking for a town / Seen only in my dreams G D C G High up in a valley / Fed by mountain streams D G C The body of my God is there / Buried in the stone D C G D I'm looking for this town / Where I am not alone D C G In my dreams where I can hear the whisper of the wind D C D And see the clouds reflecting in the mirror of the lake D C G The veil between my waking life is growing mighty thin C G D I don't know where I'm going, on this journey I must take D G C People in the town are free / No war and no disease G D C G Some tend to their gardens / Most do as they please D G C The air is clean with hints of pine / The streets are straight and wide D C G D The shops are brightly lit and warm / When I venture inside REFRAIN D G C I fall asleep and wake up there / The road I walk concealed G D C G Until I round a bend and then / The village is revealed D G C The citizens all know me well / And many times we've played D C G D Until I wake, alone in bed / The dreaming mem'ries fade REFRAIN D G C Now I've been there a hundred times / And weep when I awake G D C G For friends I've met and lived among / For memories we make D G C I could search this world of pain / And never find my town D C G D But dreaming, it's more real to me / Than any place I've found REFRAIN
